No installs, no updates to download, no payroll trapped on one PC. PayAdjust runs in your browser, files with HMRC from your browser, and gives every employee their own secure login.

Online payroll software means the work happens on a server, not on your computer. You open a browser, sign in, and your payroll is there with the current tax year’s rates already applied. There is no version to upgrade in April and no backup to remember to take.
PayAdjust goes a step further than hosting a desktop product in the cloud. Because every employee has their own login, the online part is not just for you. Staff see payslips before payday, download their own P60s, request holiday and adjust pension contributions from their phone. HMRC filing is online too: your FPS goes to the Government Gateway with one click and the response comes back in seconds.
Works in any modern browser on a laptop or tablet. Your payroll is available from the office, from home, or from your accountant’s desk, with one source of truth.
Every employee gets a secure portal for payslips, P60s, P45s, holiday requests, expenses and pension changes. No more PDF attachments.
Two-factor authentication for every user, AES-256 encryption for bank details and NI numbers, and data hosted in the UK. Read the full security overview.
FPS and EPS submissions are sent directly to HMRC and tracked in real time. The HMRC mark is stored against every accepted filing.
Being on the web is table stakes. These are the things that make cloud payroll genuinely better than the desktop version it replaced.
Owners, admins and your accountant can all be given access with their own roles. Everyone sees the same data, and the audit log records who changed what.
Tax year rates, thresholds and statutory pay amounts are updated centrally. You never download an update or wonder whether you are on the right version.
The employee portal is designed for a quick check of this month’s payslip, a holiday request, or a pension change with live take-home impact.
Submissions go from PayAdjust to HMRC over the Government Gateway. You see HMRC’s acceptance, and rejections are explained in plain English with the fix.
Mandatory two-factor authentication, encryption at rest, row-level isolation between organisations, UK data residency and an immutable audit trail.
Payroll summaries, payment files and pension schedules as CSV; employee data exportable on request for GDPR. Nothing is locked inside.
Invite employees by email. They fill in their own address, NI number and bank details, so you never chase a form.
Create the month and every payslip is calculated: PAYE, National Insurance, pension, student loans and statutory pay.
Release payslips for preview. Employees see their pay before payday and can adjust pension contributions with live tax impact.
Approve the run, file the FPS with HMRC in one click, download the BACS file and pension schedule. Done until next month.

Full pricing detailsDesktop payroll software lives on one computer. That computer holds the only copy of your payroll data, needs a licence renewal and a software update every tax year, and is the only place payroll can be run. If the person who runs it is away, payroll waits. If the machine fails, you find out how good your backups were.
Online payroll software moves all of that to a service. The data is backed up for you, the legislation is updated for you, and anyone you authorise can log in. The trade-off is that you are trusting someone else to host your data, which is why how it is hosted matters more than whether it is hosted.
It should be more secure than a spreadsheet or a desktop install, provided the provider has done the work. PayAdjust requires two-factor authentication for every user, encrypts NI numbers, bank details, dates of birth and addresses at rest with AES-256, isolates each organisation’s data at the database level, and hosts in the UK. Every admin action is written to an audit log that cannot be edited. The security page has the detail.
A shared online system removes the monthly email of spreadsheets. You can invite your accountant as an admin: they see the same payroll you do, can review a run before you approve it, and can file with HMRC as your authorised agent if that is the arrangement. If they run payroll for several clients, each client is a separate organisation they switch between from one login. See payroll software for accountants.
Create the month. Check the payslips, which are already calculated. Release them to employees for preview if you want to. Approve, file the FPS, download the BACS file for your bank and the contribution schedule for your pension provider. The dashboard shows what you owe HMRC and when. Most months, that is ten minutes.
